The reading of Bobby Moresco’s play will benefit Women Center Stage.

A reading of Oscar winner Bobby Moresco’s Working 2018, inspired by Studs Turkel’s seminal 1974 novel Working, will be presented October 11 at 7 PM at The Players Club to benefit The Culture Project initiative, Women Center Stage.

The cast will include Chazz Palmintieri (A Bronx Tale), Harry Lennix (The Blacklist), Colin Quinn (Saturday Night Live), Nikki Reed (Twilight franchise), Jasmine Cephas Jones (Hamilton), Christina Toth (Orange Is the New Black), David Dean Bottrell (Boston Legal), Dena Tyler (Bull), Chance Kelly (Aquarius), Javiar Molina (Bent), and Anne DeSalvo (Arthur).

Moresco, who also directs, said in a statement, “The political climate we’re all living through today tears at us from the moment we wake up until the time we go to sleep. We can’t escape it nor should we. Now is clearly a time to become engaged. And, along with the issues in today’s headlines, we can’t forget the middle class, the heart and soul of America. We must support the people who built America, those men and women fighting to make a decent wage for themselves and their families.”

Founder of Women Center Stage and Artistic Director of Culture Project Allan Blackman added, “The need to support Women’s voices at this juncture in time could not be more evident. That’s one of the reasons why this night is so important. The Culture Project was founded on the belief that political engagement, together with the best in theater and art, is a vital part of life.”
