Roseville, a small town located in the mountains is renowned for its special, spooky Halloween festivities. Families travel great distances to treat their children to a memorable experience.
Bordering the town on the north side is a large forest, THE WAILING WOODS. The trees cry when strong winds blow. The air is brisk, autumn leaves fall.
Devil’s Night, the night before Halloween, marks the start of Allhallowtide, and is when spirits roam, tricks are played, children misbehave, and practitioners of the black arts emerge from the shadows.
Halloween, the last day of October, is when the veil between the Otherworld and our world thins, making it easier for evil spirits and the souls of the dead to return.
Hallowmas is the day when angels make preparations to defeat the evil released on Devil’s Night and Halloween.
The Day of the Dead, also known as All Souls Day, the last day of Allhallowtide, is when the presence of angels is felt by all manner of beings beautiful and blasphemous. The struggle to restore balance peaks between the forces of light and the forces of dark. Few are aware of this.
JOEY DOGONSKI, an untreated Bipolar boy who thinks his mania is a superpower, walks his dog, HEIDI, a German Shepherd -Timber Wolf mix towards his home.
Around Joey’s neck hangs a beautiful amulet filled with churning purple, blue, white, yellow gases and particles. It was given to Joey by his Grandfather as he lay dying in the streets. Joey is protected by the amulet as long as he is wearing it. If it were to ever fall into the wrong hands, the amulet has the power to end the world.
